FUTURE FOR CHILDREN VIDEO PROJECT

Overview

In collaboration with the Muntigunung Community Development Program, I embarked on a meaningful project aimed at showcasing the incredible craftsmanship of the local community. The video not only highlights the artistry behind Muntigunung's handcrafted hammocks but also sheds light on the transformative impact this initiative has had on the lives of the community members.

Solution

The video serves as a powerful tool to communicate the story behind each hammock, fostering a deeper connection between the artisans and potential buyers. By sharing the journey and challenges faced by the community, we hope to create a positive impact on sales, further supporting the foundation's mission. We aspire to amplify the voices and skills of Muntigunung's artisans, ensuring a brighter and more secure future for all involved.

Context

The Muntigunung Foundation, committed to community development, created employment opportunities through handicraft production. Despite their commendable efforts, the challenge remained in selling the meticulously crafted hammocks, crucial for ensuring sustained job security for the local artisans.

Filming process

Embarking on this cinematic journey into Muntigunung's heart, the filming process unfolded over an immersive 3-days experience.

Day 1 kicked off with an insightful interview with the head of the crafting centers. This initial conversation served as a compass, guiding the narrative we sought to capture. Simultaneously, we ensured a seamless translation to comprehend the essence of the story, setting the stage for the days to come.

On Day 2, we found ourselves traversing the scenic route to Muntigunung, positioning ourselves strategically to document the unfolding narratives. The focus of the day was the hammock factory, where the skilled artisans poured their expertise into crafting each piece.

Day 3 took us on a picturesque drive to Ubud (Bali), where we delved into an insightful interview with the co-owner of "Above the Clouds," (natural wear) offering a unique perspective on the partnership. The narrative seamlessly transitioned to Canggu (Bali), where the final leg of our journey unfolded to film the final beautiful hammock in the store.

Each frame, each moment meticulously filmed, aimed to encapsulate not just the art of hammock crafting but the soul of a community dedicated to transforming its future.

Social media

As part of the project, social media plays a pivotal role. Short reels, capturing candid moments and the craftsmanship journey, were created to provide glimpses into the hammock-making process. This content not only serves as a visual narrative on various platforms but also contributes to the broader goal of increasing awareness and sales.
